Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Goodness me...time for EPIC LONG REPORT!! Please do your best to read it all OTL...

Friday
Got dressed as Gin-san and went to the train station to pick up

who flew in from Sydney...and waited...then got a phone call saying that she had made her way to where the coaches were, because I said to go upstairs...the coach terminal is on the other side of all the train tracks, a giant building I could see waaaay opposite where I was! OTL!! But luckily my directions of fail were overcome, and we made our way to ~JKale’s house, and then to the con!
I wasn’t recognised by many people unfortunately, as there isn’t enough Gintama love in Australia!! But I did have one of the stall holders fangirling me for about 20 minutes, which was hilarious, and also met a Sougo cosplayer to take crack shots with

Went home relatively early without staying for opening night stuff, as I had a skit to rehearse...

I did buy some pretties though...got the first two volumes of the DOGS manga and the first vol of Kuroshitsuji in English, plus CLAMP in 3D-Land figurines of Fay and Kurogane in their matching artbook outfits!

Thank you so much to the sales staff who were willing to open all the boxes for me so I could get them!!

Saturday
Managed to squeeze all my ridiculous amounts of crap into the car, and made it to the convention in one piece, only sweating mildly by this stage, in ridiculous amounts of heavy clothing...BUT THE BLING MADE IT WORTHWHILE

Was quite fun billowing down the road and getting let in in front of everyone waiting XD Although people asking to take photos was a bit like...guys, I’m in the middle of the road and about to get run over >_>
Got to put props and stuff backstage, and

Then followed the performances! Everyone was so wonderful!

Cosplayed as Alto (SMS vers) on Sunday, which again was a mistake given the heat...dear god I nearly died in that jacket! So disgusting...eeeewwwww... *sweats buckets* Had fun taking some shots with

as Ranka-chan, and then later escorting her up on stage for karaoke! LOLLL Alto may miss nearly all Ranka's performances but...he tries hard!

Judged cosplay as well on Sunday, which was fun - marshalling everyone was super-annoying though, lol. But the competition was great, loads of brilliant entries, and it was fun being the only judge with much anime/manga knowledge
